Pack smart

Don’t waste your precious energy, time or space in your luggage. Here are the six things—just six!—to slip into that carry-on to ensure a chic, successful trip (and no chance of sore shoulders).

Whether you’re jetting off to London (now that Qatar is on the Amber list) before the summer is officially over, making a break somewhere where the temperature has a chance of climbing below twenty degrees, or just taking weekend somewhere close-by — GCC or even a staycation — when it comes down to travel essentials, less is more. Just think of the times you overpacked, wasn’t really a good sight. Don’t waste your precious energy, time or space in your luggage.

Here are the six things—just six!—to slip into that carry-on to ensure a chic, successful trip (and no chance of sore shoulders).

Envelope bags:

Instead of packing handbags, replace them with simple envelope bags that can carry your essentials. They are superlight to pack in your luggage, and you can take a few (versus one heavy handbag) to carry around like clutches.

Travel kits:

Why carry big bottles of products when you can carry travel size versions of the same, essentially lasting you for exactly the number of days you’re travelling. Nothing extra, nothing less. With small travel kits, you’d be able to fit all your products in the luggage without taking space. The beauty of travel size!

Portable sunglasses travel organiser:

When on vacation, the #ootd needs to be spot on, which means plenty of accessories. The key to packing light is bringing along fewer clothing items and making room for more jewellery, shoes, scarves and what have you, to extend the versatility of the pieces. Amidst all that, it’s quite difficult to take a single pair of sunglasses (even on a weekend getaway), so invest in a sunglasses cases that fold up to fit a few pairs and keep them from scratching or getting crushed. Worth it!

Go plastic free:

While travelling you can also contribute generally to the ecosystem. Make sure to pack a reusable water bottle to avoid buying any plastic. Most airports worldwide have refill stations! And with Covid looming over us like anything, you’d be able to keep it sanitized as well.

Compression travel bags:

Compression travel bags remove the excess air and compress the clothing to the max. This doesn’t affect the weight of your luggage but considerably increases the space. These are airtight and are also fantastic at keeping your suitcase organised.

All-in-one travel adapter:

A travel adapter helps charge your electronic devices on the go, instead of carrying separate adapters for each product, one works for all. Such adapters include USB ports and are supported internationally that allows a multitude of plug options. Save yourself from overpacking today!
