Riyasat Doha launches its first ever Friday brunch

The extensive menu will feature many Indian classics and street favourites specially curated by acclaimed Master Chef, Chef Jolly.


Riyasat, the royalty-inspired Indian restaurant located in St Regis Doha, is launching its first ever Friday brunch, from 12noon to 4pm.

The brunch begins with a variety of Naashta, a selection of famous Indian street chaats, salads and sharing nibbles. For vegetarians, the Kale Chips Papdi Chaat, is a crowd favourite, made of roasted sweet potato, peanuts, gram-flour hay, and minted-tamarind dip, alongside the Quinoa Peaches Salad, which includes leafy greens, toasted pumpkin seeds, walnuts- pomelo dressing make the perfect choice for starters.

The curried crab “Puchka,” the classic Pani Puri made by chefs table side, the Burra Duck Croute (a slow roasted pulled duck leg on savoury crisps), the Mughlai Kheema Paratha (spiced minced lamb and egg stuffed flaky bread) are among the highlights in the Naashta section.

Next is the Robata and Tandoor, which is a traditional method of cooking in India, over hot charcoal predominantly a bee-hive clay oven. The Tandoor lamb seekh are minced lamb skewers, perfectly charred, served alongside some of Riyasat’s most celebrated dishes, such as the Makhan Chooza Roast, Amritsari (Tandoor roasted chicken), the Jeenga Balai, which is prawns marinated with roasted garlic, Kashmiri chilies and cream cheese. Finally, the Riyasati Tandoori Lobster, a 600-to-800gm Indian ocean sand lobster, which is marinated and cooked to absolute perfection and cannot be missed.

More dishes that are served during brunch are the Khaas (mains) and Biryanis. The signature Mardana Murgh for non-vegetarians and the Shabdegh Dal Riyasat, also refered to as “maah di daal”, which is simmered lentils, creamed and buttered overnight, is recommended for vegetarians.

In the Biryani section, the guests will have a choice to select their own pot of either lamb, chicken or prawn’s biryani. The sides accompanying all dishes include the “Naan” which could be ordered plain, butter or garlic and the Makhni Lachcha Parantha a layered wholewheat bread topped with butter and a homemade spice blend. The Khada Saag is a vegetarian delight of baby spinach and baked buffalo cheese tempered with ginger and fenugreek. Riyasat’s Signature Dessert Selection offers a blend of classics and crowd favourites.

The Riyasati “Maharaja” masala chai, a concoction of royal tea, cardamon, dried rose, and saffron is a traditional royal ending.

Guests can opt for signature vegetarian options upon request. Brunch is served for QR255 per person including soft drinks and mocktails. Kids below six can eat for free, kids between six and 12 can enjoy brunch at QR105 and kids above 12 will be charged the regular brunch price of QR 255.
