Most of the retailers in Doha have already introduced their autumn/fall collections. But here’s our rundown on fall essentials to make it easy for you. If you have these fall style essentials, getting dressed in the morning couldn’t be easier. Everything you see here works well together or on its own. These are some of the best essentials out there currently—but many are also classics you can keep around for a while.

Women:

Dark Jeans

Dark jeans are perfect to help you transition into fall fashion. You can go with neutrals like black, grey, or deep indigo that you can easily pair with a flannel top. If you want your jeans to be more of a statement piece, go with shades like tan, chocolate brown, olive green, burgundy, or burnt orange.

Ankle Boots

Ankle boots are a classic choice for fall and can be the perfect addition to any woman’s closet. You can pair ankle boots with leggings for a casual outfit that will look timeless and cute around town, or style your boot-ies with a dress for a stylish look you can wear for a night out. Stick with dark neutral colours like black and brown for a stylish staple.

Moto Jacket

A tough it-jacket of fall, the moto jacket deserves a spot in everyone’s fall wardrobe. Opt for plain black faux leather to keep it classic, or go for suede for a warmer option. You might not be ready to pull out your wool or fleece outwear just yet, so try going with a suede or leather jacket for a classy look. Lighter than a denim jacket, these jackets add an extra layer for functional fashion. You can pair your suede jacket with a cashmere turtleneck, skinny jeans, and matching suede handbag for a boho look. For an elevated casual vibe, style a leather jacket with leggings, a white shirt, and a contrasting leather handbag for an edgy aesthetic.

Wide-Leg Pants

Nowadays most people automatically reach for skinny jeans, but consider making wide-leg pants your base for an ensemble that stands out. Flare or bell-bottom jeans are comfortable and chic, and can be dressed up or down to suit any occasion. Professional women who need business casual outfits can try pairing a houndstooth or tartan pattern with a matching jacket. For a more formal look, go with classic black and a ribbed turtleneck.

Blazer

Adding a blazer to your outfit is an elegant choice, especially around the office. A double-breasted blazer will keep you warm, especially if it’s a wool blend. Like the wide-leg pants, consider matching plain and houndstooth patterns for an easy autumn look.

Oversized Sweatshirt/Hoodie

Another casual closet main is the oversized sweatshirt or a hoodie. You can keep it simple with a solid colour, or show off your personality with a graphic design like an image of your favourite cartoon, superhero, or sports team. You’ll most likely want to wear your oversized sweatshirt with skinny jeans or thick leggings. If you’re going out, swap your sneakers for cute boots or stylish flats.

Men:

Light Parka

These are hooded coat

s adapted from traditional Inuit tribe outerwear and can range from light fishtail parkas to heavier fur-lined ones and everywhere in between. A great statement piece, It also folds and stows inside its own pocket for transportation, so it’s convenient to toss in a bag or car in the case of an unexpected rush.

Flannel Shirt

We’ll be the first to tell you that there is no proper list of men’s fall fashion essentials without some cozy, fuzzy flannels thrown into the mix. Contrary to popular belief, flannel is actually a type of soft woven fabric. It’s often mistakenly used interchangeably with the plaid pattern, which flannel shirts typically boast. Stock up on a few flannels in varying patterns and colors since you could wear them right through autumn/fall as a layering piece.

Classic Boot

This is a great option for when you need something that looks proper but is still incredibly comfortable. A rubber sole on a leather boot is the answer. Seriously, this boot goes with just about anything: a denim, chino, jackets, sweaters… just everything.

Wool Pants

When it gets windy at night to sit outside, this type of pants is an excellent way to keep your legs warm whilst adding a touch of class to the outfit. These are typically associated with outdoor gear due to wool’s properties when wet. Though recently, we’ve seen them paired with more minimalist stylings where they work very well. The softness and texture is another big plus.

Khaki Jogger

This pant may stick around for a while, or it may not, but it’s sure as hell a comfy alternative to the basic jeans and t-shirt option. Put on a button front and sweater with a pair of sneakers and you look pulled together and comfortable.

Overshirt

Overshirts are awesome for chillier days and can be layered with essentially anything. An overshirt is a traditionally simple collared coat, often composed of either a rugged twill or woven fibre. Pair them with an inner T and dark denim pants. Overshirts in any form, including sweatshirts are quite a rave these days — keep it simple with basic block solid colours or some fun prints. Effortlessly chic.
