This month sees the Geneva International Motor Show (GIMS) coming to Qatar for the first time with awesome happenings scheduled across the city.

Igniting the passion of the local car community, GIMS Qatar, which will be a biennial event, will stretch beyond the halls of the main showcase at Doha Exhibition & Convention Center (DECC) into the streets, museum, racing track and the desert beyond, with extended driving experiences, exclusive displays and disruptive panel discussions.

Spanning over 10,000sq/m at DECC, get ready to witness 31 of the world’s most renowned automotive brands showcasing a ground-breaking array of new cars with 10-plus world and 20- plus regional premieres planned during the show which is open to the public from October 7 to 14, from 2pm to 10pm daily and from 10am to 10pm on Saturdays.

Immersive Experiences
Alongside the main exhibition, there will be five immersive experiences across some of the most prominent destinations in the country.

Future Design Forum
Partnering with Qatar Auto Museum (QAM) and Car Design News (CDN), GIMS Qatar explores the future of car design, hosting a curated and selected set of discussions in a forum that specifically explores the potential for bold new design directions for luxury and supercars. Expect a rich programme of scheduled content and an exclusive line-up of speakers, disruptive dialogues and cross-disciplinary thinking. Classics Gallery
Held within the main exhibition at DECC, the Gallery will feature an exclusive line-up of the world’s greatest motorcars. Showcasing some of the best cars ever made and the world’s top concours winners, this unique exhibit is a must-attend event for all discerning classic car buyers, collectors and enthusiasts.

Sealine Adventure Hub
Get ready to venture off road where the desert meets the sea. From October 7 to 13, there’re loads of exciting things to do: visit an exclusive car display, go sand boarding or camel riding, try out dune buggies and watch hero acts and live performances. In addition to the programme, visitors also have the option of booking accommodation for one or more nights at The Outpost Al Barari Camp, a one-of-a-kind luxury experience celebrating Qatar’s rich natural environment and heritage.

Urban Playground
As the sun sets, from October 12 to 14 October, the iconic Lusail Boulevard will morph into a city playground bringing the passion and energy of GIMS Qatar to the public. A daily programme of festivities will run from 5pm to 10pm which includes a dynamic lineup of music artists, DJs (details to be confirmed) and engaging talks at a centre stage by the impressive Lusail Plaza Towers.
On October 12, the GIMS Qatar Parade of Excellence will see up to 100 dream cars and unique models cruising along the 1.3km of the magnetic Lusail Boulevard for the viewing pleasure of all.
