Dreaming It into Reality: A Parisian State of Mind

I grew up a hopeless romantic who read one too many times about a city that oozed love and made eternal promises. Naturally, it had to be my go-to place, right? The kid who grew up reading Enid Blyton books, imagining this land far, far away, the imagination running wild about all things good and promising; I tell you all about my travel tales to Paris

The Unveiling of The Eiffel Tower:

So, we all know about the hop-on and hop-off buses showing you the ideal spots of the city. Well, I was taken to Champ De Mars, a park right next to the Eiffel Tower, where I was literally made to cover my eyes and stand at the ideal location to view this beauty I had dreamed of for years. In that moment, I felt the 12-year-old me living through one of the characters of my books, the one who innocently believes that the world begins and end in front of the majestic beauty. The Eiffel Tower in all its glory at almost midnight? Yeah, dreams do come to life.

Le Tire Bouchon at Montmartre

Montmartre was a cute little village of sorts for me where I witnessed one of the most beautiful sunsets. Le Tire Bouchon is an adorable little place with letters & photographs all over (literally) as if they left a piece of themselves for the city. You need to try their four-cheese crepe which was so divine that my poor husband only got to have a portion of it. France and cheese? Oh, yes! In comes the Banana and Nutella crepe and I can swear upon this; even the Nutella in Paris is different. Add whipped cream and ice-cream to this situation and it is a Parisian love affair right there! Sitting at this restaurant was exactly like being on a movie set where an old man played music in the corner, an old couple dances away as onlookers made videos and everyone could simply feel the love that Paris promises.

La Bucherie

My favorite stop of the trip; a little café with a direct view of Notre Dame. A meal with a view, this adorable café has the ideal location for someone who wants it all; history, food and a good time. Situated next to the oldest bookstore of Paris, Shakespeare and Co, you can have a good time as the bells of Norte Dame cathedral chime! A welcomed break from all the walking you’re going to do!

I must add this special note: I went to the city of love to meet the one I have loved since the past 15 years; my best friend. And as cheesy as you can be, we even exchanged friendship bands here. See, Paris does make you do crazy things in the name of love!
