DON’T MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY

Calling all potential entrants for the Ro Plastic Prize 2021.

Qatar Museums is backing the capacity for creative design minds to make a palpable difference to the world through key sponsorship of the RoGUILTLESSPLASTIC project.

The words of H.E. Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani best describe the value of the competition and the sponsorship: “As museums are platforms for knowledge production and for inspiring individuals to find solutions to enhance the quality of their lives, it gives me great pleasure to announce Qatar Museums’ commitment to combine design excellence with environmental stewardship and sustainability in sponsoring the 2021 Ro Plastic Prize.”

The leading claim of the prize is, ‘save the waste, waste is value’ and this ethos is the foundation around which entrants must base their innovative idea submissions. Aimed at creatives from across the planet, there is no age limit and the competition is open to all who wish to try their hand at interpreting the theme of re-waste. Unlike previous editions, the materials for this year’s competition are not limited exclusively to plastic but can pertain to anything recycled or recyclable.

This year, the Ro Plastic Prize is comprised of three categories: Urban and Public Furniture Design, Responsible Innovation Projects, and Emotion on Communication. You can find out more about each category on the website. The final date for the submission of projects for consideration is June 22, 2021. The finalists will be exhibited in conjunction with Milan Design Week, which will take place from September 5 to 12, 2021. They will be displayed in the Hall of Waste, one of the exhibitions of RoGUILTLESSPLASTIC 2021, located in the Cloisters of the Leonardo da Vinci Science and Technology Museum. ✤
