Doha Festival City Announces the Launch of its first International Festival to Celebrate the Cultural Diversity of Qatar’s Community

A host of exciting activities and unique experiences set to run throughout the exclusive family-friendly festival


Shoppers are invited to get a taste of this exciting festival and participate in a myriad of fun events between 15th January and 28th February

Doha Festival City, Qatar’s one and only choice for shopping, dining and entertainment, is pleased to announce hosting an International Festival, offering memorable moments and unique experiences to shoppers.

Set to run between 15th January and 28th February, the International Festival will give a taste of the multicultural diversity of Doha, through a range of exciting events and activities including Art and Tech Exhibitions, a Food Festival as well as a number of competitions with major prizes available for shoppers and visitors to enjoy across all age groups.

Kicking off the festival with the International Art Exhibition, and in-line with the Mall’s CSR initiatives, the exclusive exhibition will give the local community and international artists the opportunity to get together under one umbrella, and display their arts collections. The International Art Exhibition will be located at Centre court on the ground floor of the Mall. Guests can explore the exhibition’s artists and their collections daily starting from 2pm until 10pm throughout the duration of the Festival.

Running on the sidelines of the Festival will also be the International Tech Festival, dedicated to shedding light on new technology, brands, and PC assembly competiion, in addition to a series of panel discussions that will be held in partnership with major tech companies in Qatar.The International Tech Festival will showcase the myriad of high tech products available at Doha Festival City, as well as new tech releases and product arrivals at the Mall for shoppers to enjoy.

Shoppers can watch all of the tech programs and panel discussions live streamed on the Mall’s YouTube channel as well as on the screens in Virtuocity.

As part of the International Tech Festival, Doha Festival City will also host a dedicated “PC Assembly Competition” on 13th and 20th February at Virtuocity, where 4 contestants who will have to assemble a computer from PC parts provided by Geek Nation from the Mall. The fastest contestant to assemble the computer will win a brand new PC from Geek Nation. Winners will be selected based on their skills in cable management, assembly speed in addition to a performance test.

Furthermore, Doha Festival City will host the much-anticipated International Food Festival, showcasing the variety of international cuisines available at the Mall. Customers will also have the opportunity to receive a special ‘foodies passport’ after collecting 6 stamps from any restaurant in the mall, for a chance to win QAR2000 DHFC Gift Card. Winners of the online contest will be announced on the first week of March 2021.

Customers who wish to participate in the food passport contest can collect their passport starting from the 1st until the 28th of February 2021 and they can ask all the questions regarding the competition at the  dedicated International Festival booth located at Market Node in front of Monoprix, every day from 2pm to 10pm during the activation. Customers will be able to request from participating restaurants to stamp their passport after every meal. The food passport will invite Doha festival City visitors to undertake a culinary journey through the variety of the Mall’s F&B outlets, bringing Qatar’s foodies around the world.

A number of lucky customers can also compete for the Super Shopper title on 7th and 21st  February where Monoprix and Ikea will provide a list of shopping items that the participants must retrieve – the first one to find the items will receive1000QAR gift card. There will also be hidden items on the list that the contestants will need to find! To participate in this exciting challenge, shoppers need to register through Doha Festival City Instagram page and will be selected via a random software process.

During the International Festival, Doha Festival City will be colorfully decorated with different flags of participating countries. Retailers at the Mall will also decorate their shop fronts with flags of their original brand country.

Doha Festival City opening hours are Saturday to Wednesday from 10am to 10 pm, and Thursday to Friday from 10am to 11pm. In line with the preventative measures set out by the authorities, Doha Festival City has introduced stringent health and safety measures throughout the mall for its staff and visitors. This includes a thorough mall disinfection treatment on a weekly basis, robust cleaning and sanitisation operations during mall trading hours, 127 hand sanitising stations installed in the areas that have commonly touched surfaces.

At the entrance to the mall and all shops, visitors must show their green Ehteraz QR code, and should wear a face mask during their whole time in the mall. Physical distancing stickers in common queuing areas, such as ATM machines, banks, telecommunication kiosks and branches and various retail shops were installed to help shoppers keep the required physical distance as set forth in the guidelines by the authorities. Stores will provide sanitisers on entry and at cash points to ensure the highest level of hygiene.
