The eagerly awaited Fact Dining Awards Doha returned with a bang in a lavish, if dusty, outdoor ceremony at which guests enjoyed the return of a proper face-to-face celebration, our first proper party since the start of the pandemic. And, boy, was it fun!
After months of meticulous planning and with the help of our generous partners: Antika at Marsa Malaz Kempinski, The Pearl; Mitsubishi Motors Qatar; Firma Events; Floward and Qinwan, the awards were handed out to our excited winners, who represented the crème de la crème of Qatar’s unique dining scene.
Two winners were chosen in each category – the Favourites, which were picked by public vote, and the Best, as decided by a panel of industry experts and anonymous judges.
This year there were 84 winners, across 42 categories, ranging from steakhouse and seafood to regional cuisines and lounges, as well as the Overall Favourite Restaurant, taken by Moritmoto at Mondrian, Doha, and Overall Best Restaurant, won by COYA Doha at W Doha Hotel & Residences, Qatar.
There were more than 435 entries and 56,000-plus unique online votes cast by the public, with winners receiving the coveted Fact Dining Awards Doha 2022 plaques.
FACT Magazine Qatar publishing director, Chirine Halabi, said: “It’s another awards ceremony and I’m so happy to be hosting it again. Fact has really become the leader of the awards in Qatar and the turnout, despite the circumstances, is always incredible. We become very emotional, myself and the team, to see this fantastic turnout every year of such great personalities and successful people.
