AHA ME HEARTIES

The latest production from The Doha Players promises a fun adventure for all young (and not so young) pirates.

Taking place at Black Box Theatre, Education City, The Littlest Pirate by Kathy Macovichuk tells the tale of little Bobby who doesn’t want to go to bed and, instead, runs away to become a pirate.

In pursuit of his dream, Bobby joins Stinky Pete’s Pirate School and makes a new friend. But, adventures unfold as it’s discovered the other pirates are trying to steal Sinky Pete’s treasure and Bobby must come up with a way to help his friend.

Much hilarity ensues as ‘pirates’ battle for chests of jewels and gold with many a mishap along the way. Will little Bobby and Stinky Pete triumph. You’ll just have to go along to find out – and little ones are encouraged to dress up in their best pirate garb to make the experience extra special, they can even sit on the floor at the front of the stage if they want to.

Made up of a six-piece cast, all actors and crew are volunteers and The Doha Players is a not-for-profit association.

The show is being staged between May 31 and June 17 and tickets cost QR300 for a Family Ticket (two adults, three children aged three and above, babies up to two years go free). Discount Day on Wednesdays, is only QR50 each adult and child. Thursday, Friday and Saturday it’s QR100 but there’s an early bird 20% discount on tickets till May 7. ✤
