Lusail Stadium’s new behind-the-scenes tour lets fans revisit one of Qatar 2022’s most iconic venues thanks to Qatar Airways Holidays, but bookings close soon.
If you’re still not completely over the World Cup (or slightly obsessed as we head into the next one), this might be your sign to finally visit Lusail Stadium properly. Qatar Airways Holidays has launched its new behind-the-scenes stadium experience, giving fans access to areas usually reserved for players, coaches and media crews until June 6.
The Discover Lusail Stadium – Qatar 2022 Tour takes visitors inside the venue that hosted some of the tournament’s biggest moments, including the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 final. And yes, that means you can walk through the same corridors used by football’s biggest names during the competition. The 90-minute guided experience includes access to the VIP lounge, press conference room, players’ changing rooms and pitch-side areas, giving a closer look at one of Qatar’s most recognisable stadiums.
Basically, if you ever watched Lionel Messi lift the World Cup trophy and thought ‘I’d love to stand there once’, this is probably the closest you’re getting. Beyond the football nostalgia, the experience also dives into the design of Lusail Stadium itself, which became one of the defining landmarks of the tournament thanks to its gold exterior and architecture inspired by traditional Arabic bowls and lanterns.
Tours are limited to 20 people per group and need to be booked in advance through Qatar Airways Holidays using Cash + Avios. Lusail Stadium is accessible through the Doha Metro and Lusail Tram, with transfer buses also available for passengers transiting through Hamad International Airport. Even years after the tournament, Lusail Stadium still has that slightly surreal post-World Cup atmosphere. This tour feels very much designed for people who want to relive a little bit of that moment before Doha fully moves on to the next mega-event. ✤
