UPDATED HAYYA PLATFORM LAUNCHED

Qatar is welcoming the world to its shores with a simple and convenient visa application process.

As part of efforts to further boost tourism to the country, Qatar Tourism has revamped the Hayya platform to provide visitors a single portal to easily apply for tourist and business visas to Qatar.

The Hayya platform was launched last year and allowed more than one million visitors to enter the country during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 tournament.

Taking place with immediate effect, the updated Hayya platform will present a unified visa process to all tourists, GCC residents and companions travelling with GCC citizens and those issued with an Electronic Travel Authorization permit.

Tourists who require a visa to enter Qatar can access the Hayya platform on hayya.qa, or through the Hayya application on their smartphones. Moreover, for those reaching Qatar via the Abu Samra land border, the Hayya platform offers a pre-registration option for faster entry for vehicles, further simplifying the travel process.

For GCC nationals, the platform provides an option to apply for an entry permit for companions. The Hayya platform also helps provide additional services that aim to help visitors such as maps, transportation options and more.

HE Akbar Al Baker, Chairman of Qatar Tourism and Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive said: “Qatar’s national tourism strategy seeks to welcome over six million visitors a year by 2030. Already, Qatar is considered the most open country in terms of visa facilitation in the Middle East and the eighth most open globally, with more than 95 nationalities granted visa on arrival. We are pleased that the latest developments will further cement Qatar’s position as a leading tourism destination and will provide the opportunity for even more travellers to experience the country’s truly unique touristic offering.”

Meanwhile, Saeed Ali Al Kuwari, CEO of the Hayya Platform, said: “The relaunch of the Haya platform in its new form is an extension of the strategic vision that the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy had previously developed, a vision that centres on the sustainable legacy of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.” ✤
