A stripped-back psychological drama lands on the Doha stage this May.
If you’re in the mood for something more gripping than the usual night out, Doha Players company is staging Nine by Jane Shepard from May 13 to 15, theatre that pulls you in and doesn’t let go.
The setup is simple but loaded: two women held captive, chained apart, forced to rely on language to survive. What follows is a tightly wound psychological exchange where every word carries weight, and the balance of power can shift in a second. It’s less about action, more about tension, and how far the mind can stretch under pressure.
Described as ‘in the moment’ theatre, Nine leans into intimacy. Seating is deliberately limited, creating a close-up setting that places the audience right inside the dynamic between the two characters. Expect something raw and immersive, with flashes of dark humour and unexpected tenderness cutting through the intensity.
This isn’t background viewing, the themes are adult, and the show is recommended for ages 14+, so it’s one to book with intention. Tickets are available via Qtickets and, with limited seats, this one’s likely to stay firmly on the radar of those who get in early. ✤
