Set To Make His Mark
Andrea Kimi Antonelli, the teenage sensation, will join George Russell in the drivers’ line-up for the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team in 2025.
The Italian wunderkind, 18, will replace seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton at Mercedes. Incidentally, both Kimi and George are products of the team’s Junior programme.
Swiss luxury watchmaker IWC Schaffhausen is happy to welcome Kimi to the IWC Family and to reinforce years of successful collaboration with Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team.
Since 2013, when IWC Schaffhausen became the Official Engineering Partner of the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team, their partnership has been based on a mutual passion for mechanical engineering and a shared commitment to excellence.
Both IWC Schaffhausen and the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team are also focused on integrating more sustainable practices into their operations. Over the past decade, various special edition watches have been produced through collaborations between the two partners and they have also organised different events.
Meanwhile, Kimi has had a meteoric rise through the junior circuits since starting in karting at the age of seven.
Part of the Mercedes Junior Team since 2019, he has won multiple titles in his young career already.
