Qalamkarri Celebrates the first Indian Street Festival

Qalamkarri at Banyan Tree Doha at La Cigale Mushaireb celebrates their first Indian street food festival this March from the 2nd to the 4th. Chef Craveen Crasta, Qalamkarri’s head chef and his team prepared a special menu that showcases the most famous and favourite Indian street food dishes from all across India. 

The diners can explore and enjoy a variety of freshly prepared street food dishes. With five different live stations, chef Craveen will showcase some of the most famous dishes from Maharashtra such as “Pav Bhaji” and “Vada Pav” from the Tawa counter. You can also indulge in the flavours of the South with dedicated counters for “Dosa” and “Idli”. Another live station for Chaat will highlight all the flavours of Delhi. The team will also serve Qalamkarri’s famous Biryani and Curries from a pass-around trolley. And the grand finale will be with the dessert counter serving “Kulfi”, “Jalebi” and much more.

The festival will not only showcase the street food, but it will also take the guests on a trip down memory lane to the 70s of India with the ambience, decorations and live music.

Qalamkarri is located on the 25th floor of Banyan Tree Doha, the restaurant brings together the latest cooking techniques with India’s multi-faceted cuisine, offering a familiar yet innovative interpretation of one of the world’s great culinary experiences. Qalamkarri is inspired by Kalamkari art and the word Qalam, which means pen – combined to symbolise the crafting and artistic presentation of historic and modern India.
