Nissan calls cricket fans to celebrate and interact with ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021

Unique digital activation allows cricket fans to interact with Official ICC World Cup trophy like never before

Calling on cricket enthusiasts from across the region, Nissan, the official sponsor of the International Cricket Council (ICC) Men’s T20 World Cup, unites fans and invites them to be part of the action through engaging digital activations throughout the tournament. The largest sporting event held in the region and the biggest global cricket event since the start of the pandemic, the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, was launched on October 17 and will run until November 14 at world-class stadiums across UAE and Oman.

Nissan is also set to bring the action to fans across the world with the Official Trophy Tour, which allows cricket fans to get their hands on the popular tournament trophy whenever, wherever, and however they choose through a unique and captivating Instagram filter. Nissan’s sponsorship of the competition is further cemented through ‘Play of the Day’ that allows fans to vote for their favorite moments from each match on the official ICC website and during live broadcasts of matches.

Abdulilah Wazni, Director of Marketing & Product at Nissan Middle East, said: “At Nissan, we are committed towards enriching people’s lives and making an impact within the local communities. Our sponsorship of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup is a proud moment as we have the opportunity to be at the center of an event that brings together passionate fans across various backgrounds across the region, while also strengthening our enduring relationship with the International Cricket Council that Nissan has nurtured since2015.”

Uniting fans across UAE and Oman, Nissan offers customers and supporters the unique opportunity to participate and win complimentary tickets to watch the action live. The social media led “20 Taps to T20” activation asks fans to record themselves tapping the ball 20 times on a cricket bat and tag the official Nissan Middle East account to win tickets to the daily matches.

Supporters across the region can take part in the action by attending matches held at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Sharjah Cricket Stadium, and Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in the UAE, as well as at the Oman Cricket Academy Ground in Muscat. Nissan’s longstanding partnership with the ICC will see the Japanese brand power the 2021 tournament with over 100 vehicles, including the ever-popular Nissan Sunny and the redesigned family SUV – Nissan X-Terra.
