Marsa Malaz Kempinski recognised for commitment to green initiatives

The hotel reached a significant milestone with a certification of appreciation presented by the Qatar Green Building Council

Marsa Malaz Kempinski, The Pearl – Doha reached a significant milestone with a certification of appreciation presented by the Qatar Green Building Council. The non-profit organisation providing leadership for sustainable practices in Qatar recognized the property as a pioneer for ultra-luxury hotels in Doha with an effective sustainability program of environmentally conscious operations. The acknowledgement demonstrates the commitment undertaken to reduce the effect that the property has on the environment and to meet the requirements of the EarthCheck Company Standard – for which Marsa Malaz Kempinski was awarded the coveted Silver Certification in December 2020.

The hotel is committed to being the number one eco-conscious ultra-luxury resort in Doha and to consistently providing a healthy and safe space along with the best hospitality and guest experience. To maintain an environmentally friendly approach and to measure the continual improvement of hotel operations, annual benchmarking assessments are in place with a clear vision focusing on four key aspects: Energy Consumption, Fresh Water Consumption, Waste Reduction and most importantly Community Commitment. The hotel team participated in the recent Qatar Sustainability Week 2021 with a host of guest and staff initiatives, alongside the annual participation of Earth Hour, Earth Day and outside charity and welfare events to underline the utmost importance of increasing local community involvement and in supporting the green cause.
