fact was impressed by how naturally the Lynk & Co 900 balanced family comfort, long-distance practicality and performance that repeatedly defied its size.
Full-size SUVs promise space, comfort and road presence, but the new Lynk & Co 900 appears determined to bring almost everything else too. During our test drive, organised by Auto Class Cars, a subsidiary of Nasser Bin Khaled (NBK) Group, the authorised general distributor of Lynk & Co in Qatar, this flagship plug-in hybrid blended three-row practicality, serious performance and enough digital theatre to make a small cinema nervous.
At 5.24 metres long, it is substantial, yet clever packaging and polished manners meant it never felt unwieldy — impressive for a machine with this much metal to manoeuvre.
Big, Bold and Balanced
Lynk & Co is a joint venture between Geely Auto Group and Volvo Car Group which prides itself on premium market positioning and European design heritage which is already gaining it a strong following in the Qatar market.
We found that the 900’s size gave it authority, but the styling avoided becoming heavy-handed. Its upright proportions, broad stance and clean body surfaces created a modern, confident shape, while the slim lighting signatures added a sharper edge to the front and rear.

The dark upper section gave the profile a sleeker appearance, and the 21-inch alloy wheels filled the arches convincingly without making the design look overworked. Flush door handles kept the sides tidy, while 194mm of ground clearance added to its capable SUV stance. It is a large vehicle, but the balanced proportions stop it looking bulky — an impressive achievement in a segment where subtlety is not always the first instinct.
A Cabin That Keeps Giving
Inside, the 3.16-metre wheelbase and flat-floor SPA Evo platform translated into a genuinely generous cabin where the use of premium materials made for a seamlessly quiet driving experience
Nappa leather, translucent trim and 256-colour ambient lighting created a premium atmosphere, while more than 1.12 metres of second-row legroom made stretching out feel like the natural thing to do. With the second row folded, luggage capacity reaches up to 1,215 litres, so family packing need not resemble an advanced game of Tetris.
The second-row seats slide 55cm fore and aft and rotate by 90 or 180 degrees to face the third row. With their leg rests raised, they form a flat sleeping platform. It is an unusually versatile setup, allowing the space to shift from conventional family seating to something closer to a private lounge. Power adjustment, heating, ventilation and 16-point massage on the outboard seats raised comfort further, while the chilled nine-litre refrigerator kept refreshments close at hand.

“It can carry six people, massage them, entertain them, chill their drinks and reach 100km/h in 4.6 seconds.”
More Than a Pretty Interface
The dashboard’s sweeping 30-inch 6K OLED touchscreen dominated the cabin, supported by a 12.7-inch instrument cluster and an enormous 95-inch augmented-reality head-up display. Rear passengers were hardly forgotten: another 30-inch 6K screen folds from the ceiling, powered alongside the other displays by dual Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 processors.
The Flyme Auto system, 5G connectivity and over-the-air updates added to the 900’s high-tech feel, while the 540-degree transparent-chassis view made manoeuvring this large SUV less daunting. Harman Kardon Dolby Atmos audio added richness, and the 50W wireless charging pads even included cooling fans, so our phones could reach 100% without developing a fever.

Space With Plenty of Pace
The real surprise arrived when we pressed the accelerator. The EM-P hybrid system combines a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine with three electric motors and all-wheel drive, producing up to 528kW, 710hp and around 1,000Nm. Despite weighing approximately 2,810kg, the 900 surged from 0–100km/h in about 4.6 seconds, with a top speed of 210km/h. Experiencing a six-seat family SUV launch with that urgency felt like taking part in a drag race from the comfort of a luxury suite.
Acceleration was immediate and forceful, yet the adaptive air suspension kept the body composed with the ride feeling smooth and comfortable. Pure electric, hybrid and range-extender operation offered flexibility, while the 52.38kWh battery provides up to 170km of electric range on the NEDC cycle and approximately 870km overall.
A 20-80% DC charge took around 17 minutes, barely enough time to enjoy our snacks from the refrigerator.

Strength Beneath the Surface
The 900 backed its performance with an extensive safety package. Level 2 assistance includes LiDAR-based adaptive cruise control, lane centring, highway assist, automatic emergency braking and blind-spot monitoring, supported by cameras, radar and an NVIDIA Drive Orin-X processor.
Eleven airbags, a body structure comprising more than 77% high-strength steel and reinforced protection for all three rows, added reassurance. This vehicle has also been tested against side and rear impacts at speeds up to 100km/h while maintaining passenger-compartment integrity.
The patented wheel-detaching technology can redirect forces in certain frontal collisions by allowing a wheel to separate and reduce cabin intrusion. It is clever engineering, although we were happy not to test these features personally.

Practicality With a Pulse
The Lynk & Co 900 combined the comfort of a first-class cabin, the practicality expected from a full-size family SUV and performance that repeatedly contradicted its dimensions. It felt refined in everyday driving, handling easily and efficiently, the design perfectly complementing the sheer size and capabilities. Extravagant in its equipment and refreshingly thoughtful in the details that matter to passengers, the 900 offers a dynamic drive with both safety and performance at the forefront.
For families, commuters and long-distance travellers, it offers a compelling mix of space, range and technology. So, whether you’re cruising around West Bay or heading out to Khor Al Adaid for a desert adventure, it’s the perfect companion. It can carry six people, massage them, entertain them, chill their drinks and reach 100km/h in 4.6 seconds. Overall, the Lynk & Co 900 shows that practicality can still come with plenty of personality.
