LAUNCH OF AN URBAN ADVENTURER

Hyundai has unveiled the 2023 Venue, its upgraded urban SUV that’s ready to hit the city streets.

Exterior

Exhibiting confident body forms, the new Venue is based on Hyundai Motor Company’s Global Design Language of ‘Sensuous Sportiness’, delivering a perfect match of a sporty, dynamic, and powerful design.

The dark chrome front grille with a unique design encapsulates the new Venue’s powerful and imposing look, while the bodycoloured bumpers and front skid plate design enhance the sporty quotient.

Prominent bonnet lines express a bold character, while innovatively designed LED projector headlamps retain a distinctive charm.

The profile lends a bold appeal with bridge-type roof rails adding sportiness while the dual-tone finish adds flare. The premium nature of the vehicle is evident with the application of chromefinish outside door handles and diamond cut alloy wheels.

The unique design of the tail imparts a wider rear look and bolsters the SUV’s stance while the new rear bumper and rear skid plate design coupled with the shark fin antenna round off a bold and sporty appearance.

Interior

The premium two-tone seat upholstery amplifies the soothing and spacious interiors. There’s also a leatherette-wrapped steering wheel and gear knob, paddle shifters, front centre armrest with storage, auto healthy air purifier and smart electric sunroof.

Rear seat occupants will enjoy enhanced knee room thanks to an innovative scoop shape front seatback design. And the new Venue features power drive seats with four-way seat adjustment and two-step rear reclining seat. Cargo space is 343 litres, which can be increased by utilising the 60:40 split rear folding seat.

Technology

A high-definition, eight-inch display features a touchscreen user interface with menus that are easy to navigate. This standout unit includes an AM/FM radio with RDS (plus DAB in select markets). It supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink, as well as Bluetooth for hands-free phone operation. It also interfaces with the rear camera and the rear parking assist system.

Drive Mode Select offers a choice of Normal, Sport or Eco which adapt to changes in driving conditions or to suit the driver’s whims.

Safety

Topping the list of the new Venue essential safety features is the ultra-rigid monocoque steel body shell designed to safely absorb impact forces. Anti-locking brakes and 11-inch front discs provide ample stopping power but the system can be upgraded to include Electronic Stability Control. A rear camera display system and tyre pressure warning system provide additional reassurance.

Performance

The new Venue checks all the boxes in the performance and safety efficiency departments. The 1.0-litre Kappa T-GDI engine combines turbocharging and gasoline direct fuel injection technology for outstanding fuel efficiency.

The H-Matic, Hyundai’s tried and true seven-speed automatic gearbox, delivers silky-smooth gear shifts with outstanding efficiency. ✤
