JW Marriott Marquis City Center Doha is delighted to announce the appointment of the new culinary lead, Steven Peter as the new Executive Chef.

Executive Chef Steven Peter developed his initial love for food back to his Bavaria childhood, and to his grandmother. As a food lover and culinary expert, he recalls the most memorable meals he had eaten in his life when his grandmother was cooking at home and he was coming back from the school for a delicious food. Then when he was 14, he decided to cook.

Executive Chef Steven Peter’s culinary journey has taken him across the world, where he has brought his distinctive talent and experience to luxury hotels. As Chef himself admits, working in award-winning restaurants has influenced his culinary skills in a substantial way, allowing him to create unique flavor combinations by using locally sourced products, presented in simple, yet sophisticated way. He has an extensive experience in seafood since he spent almost four years in Pierchic a multi award-winning seafood restaurant – awarded The Best Seafood Restaurant for four times during his time there.

“Cooking carries so many wonderful memories from my childhood. And the food memories do not only satisfy your taste buds, but also the heart and the soul. I love to create those same kinds of moments and memories through my food for my guests” said Peter and he shared his thoughts about latest culinary trends, “Social media especially is essential for culinary experts of all experience levels and traditions as it’s an important way to be visible in different markets. I spend quite some time on Instagram which is a great medium for me to keep up to date what people want to see and eat. And technology has a huge impact on our lives. I see a massive potential on virtual culinary experiences, like cooking classes, Chef’s tables, workshops and so. We will introduce new kinds of culinary experiences on different platforms at JW Marriott Marquis City Center Doha in the upcoming months. Looking forward to meeting with the foodies in Qatar.”

Chef Steven Peter joins JW Marriott Marquis City Center Doha from his prior role as Director of Culinary at Marriott International Middle East and Africa, developing Restaurant and Lounge concepts for hotels. Before that Steven was the Executive Chef at the Ritz Carlton Al Wadi Desert and the Ritz Carlton Al Hamra Beach located in  Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates. He also worked at JW Marriott Marquis Dubai as Executive Sous Chef. Previous positions also include the Madinat Jumeirah Resort, Al Qasr and Bristol Hotel in Germany. As a brilliant professional, he was awarded the one Gold Medal and two Silver Medals in Culinary World Cup, Luxembourg in 2018, two Gold Medals FHA National Team Challenge Competition in Singapore in 2018, Winner Award of Culinary Excellence in 2016 Middle East and Africa.

As the Executive Chef at JW Marriott Marquis City Center Doha, Chef Steven Peter bring his excellent culinary and management skills to the hotel, as he oversees all its food and beverage outlets and catering services.
