After more than a decade behind the scenes, Ziad Wehbe launched FAVÉ to bring his own take on gifting and celebrations to Qatar. We caught up with the founder to talk about building a homegrown brand and what it takes to stand out in a competitive market.
For over a decade you built your name behind the scenes. What did that experience teach you about the market, and what convinced you there was room for a consumer-facing brand like FAVÉ?
Working behind the scenes for over a decade gave me an unfiltered view of what clients in Qatar truly expect. When you’re the one delivering for hotels, corporates and private families, you see exactly where the market falls short. That experience taught me that the Qatari market doesn’t just want luxury; it wants authenticity, consistency and attention to detail at every level.
Over time, I noticed a clear gap for a homegrown brand that could combine world-class craftsmanship with genuine local understanding. FAVÉ was born from that conviction, the belief that people here deserved a destination where chocolate, flowers and celebration come together seamlessly.
FAVÉ spans showroom retail, weddings, bespoke events and corporate gifting. How would you describe the business today, and how do all these moving parts work together?
Today, FAVÉ is best described as a celebration house. At the heart of it is our showroom at West Walk, both a retail destination and a living showcase of what we do. Each division feeds the others. A guest who discovers us through the showroom may later trust us with their wedding; a corporate client who receives one of our gift collections often returns for their company’s annual events. The common thread across all of it is craftsmanship and personalisation.
Operationally, we run on shared foundations, one creative team, one quality standard, one supply chain, which allows us to move fluidly between a single gift box and an event for hundreds of guests without ever compromising on detail.

Running an events business and a consumer brand require very different skill sets. What has been the biggest learning curve for you as an entrepreneur?
The biggest learning curve has been shifting from project thinking to brand thinking. In events, success is measured one occasion at a time. A consumer brand is a completely different discipline: it’s about building trust and consistency every single day. I had to learn that a brand is a promise you renew constantly. Balancing the adrenaline of large-scale events with the patience and discipline of retail has made me a more complete entrepreneur. It taught me to build systems, empower my team and think in years rather than occasions.
What do you think sets the Qatari market apart from other GCC markets when it comes to premium gifting and celebrations?
Qatar has an extraordinary culture of generosity and hospitality, and that is reflected in how people here approach gifting and celebration. What sets this market apart is the level of sophistication and personalisation clients expect. Gifting in Qatar is never transactional; it is deeply personal, a genuine expression of respect and appreciation. Qatari clients are exceptionally well-travelled and discerning; they know international standards and expect them to be met, but they also value tradition, elegance and discretion.
Compared to other GCC markets, I find Qatar to be more intimate, relationships matter enormously, word of mouth carries real weight and loyalty is earned through consistency.

Looking ahead, what does the next chapter of growth look like for FAVÉ, and where do you see the biggest opportunities over the next few years?
The next chapter for FAVÉ is about deepening before widening. Our immediate focus is strengthening our position in Qatar, expanding our bespoke and corporate gifting programmes, growing our weddings and events portfolio and continuing to elevate the showroom experience. Beyond that, we see significant opportunity in seasonal and cultural collections, digital ordering and delivery and strategic partnerships with hotels and corporates.
Qatar’s calendar of national events, international conferences and world-class occasions creates constant demand for premium experiences, and we intend to be the trusted local name behind them. Regional expansion within the GCC is certainly on the horizon, but only once we’ve perfected the model here.
