The new General Manager of Park Hyatt Doha shares her thoughts on the draw of experiential stays, Qatar’s unique offerings and world travel wishes.

Congratulations on your new appointment. With more than 20 years in the industry, what was it that first attracted you to hospitality and is that attraction still strong?
I chose to become a hotelier because I’ve always been drawn to the idea of creating memorable experiences for people. From a young age, I was fascinated by the world of travel, culture and luxury. Watching documentaries about different places and visiting luxury hotels ignited a passion in me for hospitality. I loved the idea of crafting environments where guests feel valued and cared for. As I grew older, I realised that the hospitality industry would allow me to combine my love for people, travel and creating exceptional experiences into a fulfilling career. Becoming a hotelier felt like a natural path, where I could turn my passion into a profession, ensuring that every guest leaves with a lasting positive impression.

What was it about Park Hyatt that prompted you to take up this position?
After a brief hiatus from the hotel industry, I was excited to join a brand celebrated for its luxury and exceptional hospitality. Park Hyatt’s dedication to detail and personalised service aligns perfectly with my professional and personal values. What are your plans for the hotel in the short and medium terms – are there any refurbs, new restaurants, offers, etc., that guests can look forward to?
To propel Park Hyatt Doha towards greater success, we will employ a strategic approach that includes meticulously refining guest experiences, curating innovative offerings and executing a comprehensive marketing strategy designed to enhance our global prominence and reinforce our reputation for unparalleled excellence.

What, in your view, does Qatar offer for overseas visitors?
Qatar offers international visitors a captivating blend of cutting-edge innovation, rich cultural heritage and world-class amenities, including stunning architecture, vibrant markets and a dynamic culinary scene, all within one of the safest countries globally.

If cost were no object, where would be your ideal holiday destination?
My dream holiday involves an epic journey around the world, including exploring South America’s vibrant cultures, discovering Africa’s breathtaking wildlife, marvelling at the Southern Lights in Australia and traversing Central Asia, while ticking off every destination on my bucket list. ✤
