Qatar’s waterfront is gearing up for a dynamic fusion of sport, style and culture as the country welcomes its first-ever polo showcase at Old Doha Port.

After the roaring success of Formula 1 at Lusail International Circuit and with the Arab Cup electrifying the nation, Qatar is bracing for its next big thrill: the launch of Polo AlMarsa. From December 11 to 13, Old Doha Port will trade its usual seaside calm for the thundering hooves and high-octane elegance of a sport making its long-awaited Qatari debut.

For the first time, top international players will ride onto a custom-built grass arena by the water, bringing with them the speed, precision and flair that have made polo a cultural icon in their homelands. Presented by Qatar Calendar, the event is held in partnership with the Qatar–Argentina–Chile 2025 Years of Culture, spotlighting the deep equestrian traditions shared between these nations, and now, with Qatar.

The three-day programme is stacked with action. Expect everything from a Youth Camp and the Mini Mallet Cup to a Women’s Exhibition Match, a spectacular Chilean horse show and the headline Polo AlMarsa Championship Cup, where Qatari and international riders will team up for a historic tournament.

And the magic won’t stop at the arena. The lively Polo Village will serve as the festival’s social heartbeat, with food trucks, fashion corners, live entertainment, retail pop-ups and family-friendly activities turning the port into a lifestyle playground. With its mix of high-level sport, cultural discovery and seaside glamour, Polo AlMarsa is shaping up to be Qatar’s next unmissable event! ✤
