Festival City Donates 1000 boxes of essential Ramadan food supplies to workers and low-income families in partnership with Qatar Charity

As part of its ongoing commitment to giving back to the community, Doha Festival City donated essential food supplies to workers in the industrial area and other locations and to families in need ahead of the Holy Month of Ramadan


Doha Festival City, Qatar’s leading choice for shopping, dining and entertainment, is pleased to announce its partnership with Qatar Charity in a joint initiative dedicated for the holy month of Ramadan. As part of the ongoing #Festival Cares initiative, Doha Festival City donated 1,000 boxes with essential Ramadan food supplies distributed to the workers throughout the Industrial Area and other locations, and to the families with limited income, with support of Qatar Charity, as part of Qatar Charity’s ‘Ramadan of Hope’ drive.

Each box contained bottles of oil and concentrated juice beverage, pack of rice, lentils and sugar; a bag with box of dates(what are dates?) and box of tea bags, all provided by Doha Festival City. The distribution was held ahead of Ramadan with the aim to support the targeted workers and families to get ready for the Holy Month.

Successful partnerships with private companies are a fundament of charitable action on the local level, and a much-needed support for the vulnerable across the globe”.

Between April 12 to April 24, the Mall’s trading hours will be from 10:00 to 15:00, and from 19:00 to 00:00, while the hypermarket will be open continuously from 09:00 to 00:00. From April 25 to May 11, general mall trading hours will be from 10:00 to 00:00, with an option to trade until 01:00. The Hypermarket will be open continuously from 09:00 to 00:00.

In line with the preventative measures set out by the authorities, Doha Festival City has introduced stringent health and safety measures throughout the mall for its staff and visitors. This includes a thorough mall disinfection treatment on a weekly basis, robust cleaning, and sanitization operations during mall trading hours, 225 hand sanitizing stations installed in the areas that have commonly touched surfaces.

At the entrance to the mall and all shops, visitors must show their green Ehteraz QR code, and should wear a face mask during their whole time in the mall. Following the latest government restrictions, kids below 16 years old are not allowed to enter the mall, and the mall continues to operate with overall capacity and parking spaces reduced to 30%. All food courts, restaurants and cafés are closed until further notice, with takeaway and delivery options still available. Fitting rooms of all retail stores, prayer rooms and ablution areas, health and beauty centers, Edge Fitness, kids’ playgrounds, play centers and theme parks are closed until further notice.  Physical distancing stickers in common queuing areas, such as ATM machines, banks, telecommunication kiosks and branches and various retail shops were installed to help shoppers keep the required physical distance as set forth in the guidelines by the authorities. Stores will provide sanitizers on entry and at cash points to ensure the highest level of hygiene.
