Trail shoes, Qatari sand and a challenge unlike any other: the sixth edition of the Theeb Desert Ultramarathon returns this November, bringing two days of pure endurance, community and adrenaline to the desert.

Get ready to trade city streets for rolling dunes. The sixth edition of Theeb Desert Ultramarathon hits Qatar’s desert on November 21 and 22, bringing together runners, cyclists and outdoor enthusiasts for two adrenaline-filled days under open skies.

Organised by the Qatar Sports For All Federation with Trails Sports Events, and held under the auspices of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, the race is recognised by the International Trail Running Association. Think world-class standards, marked courses and that rugged desert backdrop that makes Theeb a fixture on the calendar.

This year widens the field. Kids aged three to 14 can join the cycling competition for the first time, while seniors 60 and above are welcome alongside club athletes and weekend warriors. On foot, runners can choose between 800m, 3km, 10km, 25km and 50km. On wheels, mountain bikers tackle 25km or 50km across packed sand, gentle dunes and windy flats.

Expect early starts, checkpoints and a supportive scene built around grit, pacing and smart hydration. Whether you are chasing a personal best or testing yourself off-road for the first time, Theeb keeps the focus on safe racing and big-desert atmosphere.

Ready to line up? Lace up, tune your bike and watch for final start waves and briefing times from the organisers. Two days, seven distances, one goal: finish strong in the sand. ✤
