Corteo by Cirque du Soleil is set to make its debut in the capital in April, bringing acrobatic artistry, live music and theatrical spectacle to Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC).
The city is gearing up to welcome the internationally acclaimed production, bringing breathtaking acrobatics, striking visuals and powerful storytelling to audiences in Qatar for the first time.
Widely regarded as one of Cirque du Soleil’s most beloved productions, Corteo combines gravity-defying feats, evocative music and intricate set design in a theatrical experience celebrating imagination, wonder and the human spirit.
At the centre of Corteo is Mauro, a dreamer clown who imagines his own funeral taking place in a carnival atmosphere, attended by tender angels. As he reflects on his life, characters from his past appear in a joyful celebration. The production contrasts the grand with the intimate, the silly with the tragic and the beauty of perfection with the appeal of imperfection. The captivating live score, by turns lyrical and playful, carries the story through a timeless celebration where illusion teases reality.

The production is being staged by Visit Qatar, in partnership with Ethara and SESLive!, from April 8 to 13, running across eight performances, offering residents and visitors the opportunity to experience one of Cirque du Soleil’s most acclaimed, family-friendly shows in Doha.
