The auction of four Unique Pilot’s Watches Chronograph Edition “Inspiration4” raises 405,000 us dollars for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital

On 18 September 2021, the Inspiration4 crew made history by completing the first-ever all-civilian mission to orbit Earth. As an official partner of the mission, IWC Schaffhausen designed and donated four unique space-themed Pilot’s Watch Chronographs representing the mission pillars of Leadership, Hope, Generosity and Prosperity. The watches travelled to space with the Inspiration4 crew and orbited Earth at an altitude of 585 kilometres (364 miles). Now, these four unique timepieces were auctioned to support the lifesaving work of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

The Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Edition Inspiration4 of Hayley Arceneaux (Hope), a 29-year old physician assistant at St. Jude and a pediatric cancer survivor, came under the hammer at the official St. Jude Inspiration4 Celebration held on 6 November in California. The three other Pilot’s Watches Chronographs Edition “Inspiration4” with the names and mission values of commander Jared Isaacman (Leadership), Dr. Sian Proctor (Prosperity) and Chris Sembroski (Generosity) were auctioned online on CharityBuzz.

The full proceeds of 405,000 USD will go to St. Jude, who is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened nearly 60 years ago.
