An open call has been issued by the Tasweer 2025 Awards, hosted by the Tasweer Photo Festival Qatar under the umbrella of Qatar Museums, inviting photographers from the Western Asia and North Africa (WANA) region to submit their entries for consideration in two categories – the Tasweer 2025 Project Award and the Tasweer 2025 Single Image Award – by September 20.

The Tasweer 2025 Project Award

The Tasweer Project Award offers QR30,000 per awardee to support the initiation, further development or completion of a photographic project by photographers resident in WANA. Awardees gain opportunities to exhibit and participate in Tasweer Photo Festival Qatar’s exhibitions, activities and the festival’s fourth edition in 2027. The award also provides photographers with visibility, mentorship opportunities and inclusion in the growing Tasweer community of emerging, established and accomplished photographers.

Key Features of the Tasweer Project Awards:

Eligibility:
Photographers aged 18 and above, residing in WANA.

Grant:
QR30,000 per awardee to support their photographic projects.

Support:
Awardees are supported in initiating, developing or completing their photographic projects.

Showcase:
Awardees’ work is exhibited as part of the Tasweer Photo Festival Qatar’s public and online programme.

Engagement:

Awardees present their work through various platforms, including online and in-person events.

The Tasweer 2025 Single Image Award

This is an annual award of QR2,000 per awardee open to photographers of all ages and degrees of experience, resident in Western Asia and North Africa, to submit a single photographic image that best represents their experience and personal narrative. Awardees will have the opportunity to have their single images presented in an online exhibition, receive a cash prize and participate in Tasweer Photo Festival Qatar’s online and public programme.
