Sky Motors, a division of Business Trading Company (BTC) and Al Rabban Holding, has announced the launch of ROX in Qatar with the inauguration of a modern showroom in Lusail.

In the short time since its launch in 2019, ROX has made a significant mark in the hybrid and luxury new energy SUV sector with the ROX 01 filling key gaps in the SUV market.

Setting New Standards

ROX Motor’s all-terrain capabilities set a new standard for outdoor adventure, with the ROX 01 leading the way in lidar technology for natural environments. Its new full-domain intelligent driving system, available through OTA updates, features a 3D transparent chassis that allows drivers to view and assess obstacles in real time, ensuring safer navigation in rugged conditions. The intelligent traffic detection system further enhances convenience by evaluating road width, height and slope.

Continuous Evolution

The comfortable, intelligent cockpit is designed for versatility offering an unparalleled balance of high-end luxury and all-round capability. And, in partnership with audio software company Arkamys, ROX Motor has developed an advanced audio system that delivers powerful bass, crystal-clear vocals and rich, textured mid-high tones.

The latest OTA update introduces a fully integrated GPT-based assistant, customised from Baidu’s ERNIE Bot, offering a smart, intuitive driving companion. ROX Motor will also soon launch family-oriented features through future OTAs.

The vehicle offers both six- and seven-seat configurations, with an unusual extra seat in the third row instead of the second. The six-seater is available with exclusive VIP airline seats with eight-point spa massage and heated and ventilated options in the second row. The ROX 01 also has a large storage capacity, up to 1,200mm, providing ample luggage space.

Advanced technical solutions include the keyless entry system, a 15.7-inch infotainment system equipped with Qualcomm 8155 chip – which supports the interconnection of multiple high-resolution screens such as the 12.3-inch instrument cluster, the central control screen and the 15.6-inch rear entertainment display screen – as well as a nine-inch frame streaming rear view mirror, 14 speakers, six cameras and multiple driver assistance features.

Hybrid Engine and Transmission

ROX 01 is equipped with a 1.5L four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine paired with two electric motors and a 56kWh battery pack. The whole setup is managed by an eCVT gearbox. Interestingly, the engine doesn’t drive the wheels directly; it generates power for the motors and battery.

The ROX 01 Plug-in Hybrid SUV is a game-changer in its class, combining electrifying performance with eco-conscious efficiency. Boasting a maximum power of 470hp and a peak torque of 740Nm, it accelerates from 0 to 100km/h in just 5.5 seconds, with a top speed of 190km/h. Offering an impressive electric range of 235km and a total range of 1,115km with petrol and electric combined, the ROX 01 ensures convenience and reliability for every journey. With a full charge time of 8.6 hours and DC fast charging delivering zero to 80% in just 30 minutes, this SUV seamlessly blends power, efficiency and practicality. ✤
