Wide open space, sea views and plenty going on: back on Qatar’s west coast until January 17, Brouq sets the scene for the perfect escape built around food, activities and time outdoors.

Winter doesn’t stick around for long in Qatar. One minute evenings are cool and outdoors make sense, the next you’re back planning around the heat. If you’re looking to make the most of it while it lasts, Brouq is worth a look. The site has reopened with a programme mixing activities, food and live entertainment, all set in a wide, open landscape by the sea.

Put together by Visit Qatar, this second edition invites visitors to explore the landscape at their own pace. General admission tickets unlock a wide range of free activities designed to connect you with the environment, from traditional arts and crafts workshops to live stage performances, outdoor cinema screenings and roaming performers. Families can settle into gathering zones with fire pits, let kids loose on trampolines or mini obstacle tracks, and take in everything from poetry sessions to classic car displays.

If you’re looking to add a bit more adrenaline or indulgence, Brouq offers a lineup of paid activities that turn the destination into an adventure playground. New this year is the Adventure Tower, 8 home to Qatar’s longest zip line, alongside a free-fall experience and climbing wall. There’s even more to discover as the day goes on, from hot air balloon views and stargazing sessions to Film City’s traditional souk atmosphere and wildlife encounters within the desert reserve.

Food and hospitality take things up a notch, with premium dining and lounge concepts curated by W Hotel, a mix of regional and international food offerings, and a gift shop featuring Brouq merchandise.

And if leaving after sunset doesn’t sound appealing, Our Habitas Ras Abrouq offers glamping pods right on the site, with sea views and proper facilities. You can turn a few hours at Brouq into an overnight stay without overthinking it. At that point, heading back can wait! General admission tickets are priced QR50 for adults and QR30 for children under 12. ✤
