Qatar National Day returns on December 18, filling the country with parades, cultural showcases and citywide festivities. We’ve put together a curated selection of places and experiences to help you enjoy the occasion to its fullest.
The 2025 Slogan
This year’s slogan, Bekum Ta’lu W’ Minkum Tantazer (‘The nation rises with you, waits for you’), sets the tone for the festivities. Inspired by a speech from HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, given during his 2016 visit to Qatar University, it’s a reminder that the country’s momentum comes from its people: their creativity, their spirit, their drive. A simple, powerful message and a fitting backdrop to a day that brings everyone together.
Doha Corniche
If there’s one place where National Day feels truly electric, it’s the Corniche. This is where the official parade takes place, featuring the Armed Forces, the Amiri Guard, the police, and internal security services. It’s loud, spectacular and completely unmissable. The atmosphere builds throughout the day with the National Day Air Show, as military aircraft perform aerobatic manoeuvres over the waterfront. Stick around until evening: the West Bay skyline becomes the star of the show as fireworks light up the water. Expect crowds, cameras and that unmistakable National Day buzz.
Katara Cultural Village
For a more cultural spin on National Day, Katara has you covered. Think hands-on workshops, storytelling sessions for kids, traditional music and an artisanal market by the water. This is also where the very first edition of the Doha International Music and Marching Festival (Doha Tattoo) will be held from December 16 to 20. The inaugural festival comes under the patronage of H.E. Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Minister of Interior and Commander of Lekhwiya. And the lineup is impressive: national ensembles from seven countries will take the stage, including the United Kingdom, the United States, Turkey, Jordan, Oman, Kazakhstan and Qatar.

Audiences can expect standout performances from the Irish Guards and Royal Air Force Music Services (UK), the United States Air Force Honor Guard, the legendary Ottoman Mehter Band, the Jordanian Armed Forces Band, the Royal Guard of Oman Band and the Central Military Band of Kazakhstan. Qatar will also take pride of place with musical units from the Ministries of Defence and Interior, the Amiri Guard, the Ministry of Culture and the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra. The programme includes nightly showcases mixing international performances with Qatari heritage segments, including Ardha, as well as fireworks and drone shows that will light up Doha’s sky throughout the week. Tickets priced at QR15, QR30 and QR100 through Virgin Megastore Tickets.
Msheireb Downtown
Msheireb is also going all in. The district turns into a walkable festival zone, with interactive installations, performances and plenty of surprises tucked between its streets and squares. It’s the perfect spot for families or anyone who wants a stylish, easygoing way to take in the celebrations, from 4pm to 10pm.
